ljus (swedish for: light) is an NVidia GPU application, able to simulate the propagation of light through a refractive object, such a glass.
It has recently been part of a research submission accepted at SIGGRAPH.
The video shows the light wavefront first as wireframe (each quad is one calculation unit), then as intensity field, and finally shows how the volume is filled with the light traces (imagine a smoke-filled cube).
