How to Make a Carrot Tulip Flower
Presented by Gary Shyu, Chef and Owner of China Bell, Grove City, Ohio
http://www.chinabell.net

You Will Need:
• Carrot (room temperature)
• Cutting board
• Produce knife
• Paring knife

Directions:
1. Using the sharp produce knife, cut the carrot to be square.
2. Using the paring knife, cut each of the corners off of one end, to resemble a pencil.
3. Starting at that same end, cut a thin slice, about half way through, on each corner.
Tip: Push the carrot instead of pushing the knife so you can control it better and not cut yourself.
4. Once you have made 4 slices on each corner, twist the bottom of the carrot and the "tulip flower" will come right off.
5. Repeat the process. One large carrot can probably yield approximately 10 tulip flowers.
6. Place in cold water to rejuvenate and open up the flower.
