The Norfolk Chamber Consort presents BWV 106 "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbester Zeit" in Christ and Saint Luke's Church in Norfolk, VA on Monday, September 20, 2010 with special guests, The Countertop Ensemble ( Ensemble includes Ruth Griffioen and Herb Watson (recorders), Sarah Glosson and Wayne Moss (gambas), Jeff Phelps (cell), and Tom Marshall (organ). The Countertop Ensemble includes Elizabeth Hungerford* and Emily Noel (sopranos), Chris Dudley* and Anne-Marieke Evers (altos), Jason Rylander and Joseph Regan (tenors), and Karl Hempel* and Jonathan Woody* (basses). The cantata was directed by Allen Shaffer and was performed in memory of mezzo-soprano Lisa Relaford Coston. For more information about the Norfolk Chamber Consort, visit Tom Marshall, Sarah Glosson, and Ruth Griffioen are faculty at the College of William and Mary, where Griffioen instructs the Early Music Ensemble. Jason Rylander and the recording engineer are alums of the College.
