I get lots of questions about changing from bit riding to halter riding or riding without a bit. This step is critical to advancing and building confidence and trust in your horse. This shows that you are scared and that you trust your horse. Making excuses on why you can't do this shows that you are a weak rider and scared of your horse and do not trust your horse or your own abilities. STOP making excuses, it is not hard and only seems scary, once you do it you will feel so much more confident and your riding will improve 10-fold.

So get out there and ride with one rein and often and learn to train your hands to steer and control your horse with clear direction with one rein so your horse will learn to pay attention one rein and then even when you have two reins you WILL ONLY USE ONE REIN and your horse and you will get better.

The key is for you to learn and gain confidence since When you get better, Your Horse gets better.
