The former residence of Sadayakko Kawakami in Nagoya is now a museum. A former geisha, Sadayakko Kawakami became the first Japanese international star after her acting debut at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. Her western-style home, which she shared with businessman Momsuke Fukuzawa has been preserved in the "Cultural Path" district of the city of Nagoya.
