Mr. Day - Queen Of The Minstrels from the album "Dry Up In The Sun " Release date: Apr 17, 2012 , Cornell Campbell's cover.
Following their acclaimed 1st LP, Mr Day keeps affirming itself with a more ambitious new album which clearly set them at the intersection of Rock and Soul from the 60s to now.
The band decided to use 100% analog production and recording techniques that contributed to produce a rich and organic sound. Thus "Dry Up In The Sun" appears resolutely timeless, and The alchemy seems natural on each of the 10 tracks that make up this inspired sophomore work.. . Cornell Campbell's career became history early on in his career when his original vocal group The Eternals recorded the Studio One staple "Queen of The Minstrels". The intro hornline has been etched into the reggae timeline, and returns the listener to the Old Time Dances of Jamaica's yesteryears.
All the pin-up photos remind me the "real" ment woman of 50's and 60's A pin-up girl, also known as a pin-up model or cheesecake, is a model whose mass-produced pictures see wide appeal as popular culture. Pin-ups are intended for informal display, e.g. meant to be "pinned-up" on a wall. Pin-up girls may be glamour models, fashion models, or actresses.
The term pin-up may also refer to drawings, paintings, and other illustrations done in emulation of these photos (see the list of pin-up artists). The term was first attested to in English in 1941 however, the practice is documented back at least to the 1890s.
The pin-up images could be cut out of magazines or newspapers, or be from postcard or chromo-lithographs, and so on. Such photos often appear on calendars, which are meant to be pinned up anyway. Later, posters of pin-up girls were mass-produced and became an instant hit. Personally I love the Pin-Up Girls. I certainly think only one dynamic, bold and sexy born today woman can support this style successfully...
