Irish Americans used this song during the Revolution and it was fitting.  It is fitting now as we have shed blood for other peoples freedom for 2 centuries.  My Dad was wounded in WW2, I spent 24 years as a 19Delta and was wounded twice. Larry Perino the Ranger Platoon leader at BlackHawk Down is a close friend of mine.

chickennub this is a monumental IRISH song written by thomas moore me old mate, born in dublin with a street named after him ,he was a famous bard /songwriter in the late 1700's into the mid 1850's ....thought i'd clear that up mate ,,,
