Eight years ago, Kaiser Permanente established an annual day of service on Martin Luther King Day to honor and recognize Dr. King and his advancement of civil and human rights. Every year the number of participants increases -- and 2012 was no different. An estimated 6,900 volunteers worked on projects in about 137 community sites across the country.
