It is very rare that I go back and give games that initially didn't impress me another look but in the case of Island 359 I'm really glad I did! I had initially played a very early version on Steam and I wasn't really all that impressed with it at the time. Fast forward a few months and I saw it was finally released on Oculus Home so I decided to give the game another look. I wanted to see if things had improved and I am happy to say that they really did. From the initial helicopter ride into the camp followed by the intensity of hunting and being hunted by Dinosaurs coupled with the very detailed environments and audio really brought this experience to life. As for the Dinosaurs in the game lets just say they could still use a bit of work. Mostly on their movements and AI as they all seemed to just come straight at me and line up to be killed. Overall I have to say though that just being in this environment made getting Island 359 worth the price of entry for me! The game is still in early access and after playing the first couple of levels all I can say is that I can't wait to see how it improves further.
