Early preview (like, pre-alpha) of the game I'm working on with a working title of CurveBreaker (edit: now Melodaeum). This demo shows the basic controls and gameplay, and most especially the music.

The background music changes depending on the score multiplier (bottom left of center) at each phrase of the music. Whenever bricks are hit, the lead instrument plays a semi-random note that's in key with the current chord that's playing in the background. I just got this working all together today, so I hope to extend it some more and make more interesting music out of it, but I'm excited with the results so far.

The art is far from final, especially the background and quite likely the paddle will change. The bricks may stay as they are, though.

This is on a BlackBerry PlayBook, using the Cocos2D-X engine in C++, Box2D, and OpenAL mostly. The levels are created in inkscape and then loaded in with my own code. Assuming I have time and other resources, I'll port it to Android and iOS also.

At the time of this video, this game has been under development for 2.5 months of casual off and on development. I have a wife and 3 kids, plus I'm working on a PhD, so I don't have tons of time to work on this, but I do something almost every day.
