A new chapter in the history of motorsport begins this year with the launch of the FIA GT1 World Championship.
The championship will feature iconic marques including Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini, Maserati and Nissan.
Renowned motorsport teams have signed up to race and they will compete with the most talented sports car drivers around. The cars are extremely similar in performance so it is down to the driver and his team to make the difference on the track.
GT1 World will also visit some of the world legendary circuits including Spa-Francorchamps, Interlagos, Silverstone, Nurburgring, San Luis and the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The championship will run one-hour races, 12 independent teams with two cars each in the same livery.
The FIA GT1 World Championship launch takes place in Paris with the cars being unveiled at the Place Vendome, and speeches from series promoter Stephane Ratel and FIA President Jean Todt. Previously unseen footage of the new cars testing at Paul Ricard will also be included.
