It has been estimated that Rod Stewart's album and single sales total more than 250 million dollars, easily earning him a place on the list of best-selling music artists, and he is probably most widely known for his instantly identifiable husky voice.

His string of blonde bombshell girlfriends and wives matches that of the number of frequent successful records and band splits hes been apart of.

The father of seven children to five different women, his 16 year union with model Rachel Hunter produced two of them!

Popular throughout the 70s, in the mid 80s his career slumped but rose again throughout the early 90s with the song Have I Told You Lately.

Rod was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005 for his contribution to the music industry.

Rod certainly has made a dramatic and stylish impact on the music world. The musical Tonights the Night pays tribute to his popular music and career as one of the best entertainers of his generation.

He married third wife, blonde model turned photographer Penny Lancaster in 2007 after she gave birth to his seventh child Alastair in 2005.

Penny first met Rod at a Christmas party in 1998 when she was a photography student. Nine years on Rod went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Rod Stewart is an enduring star; having sold millions of albums worldwide. Although he may have mellowed over the years, he has evolved with the times and his distinct voice has made him become one of modern musics greats.
