The Last week of December is one of the best times to be a Touhou-fan(atic). Why? Cause winter Comiket-that's why! And hey, for me it's christmas thrice this year cause not only did I get quite the loot irl, there's also plenty of what the hell how awesome is this doujin stuffs coming up for both Touhou and KanColle. WOUZA!
Now, with the Charisma Lush Albums, Hobby Atelier CarrotWine rapidly climbed my personal ladder of amazing and epic remixes. And well, I decided to give you a double special, again. 1200 amazing subscribers (I love you!) and ( a bit early, but whatever) a New-Year's-special.
As with glorious albums, I always have/had a very very tough time deciding which one to pick. Often to the point of saying "screw it all, I'll upload the whole thing!". But I never upload a whole album in one go (there were two exceptions back in the days with munchie though...) cause I'd feel... lazy. Or not lazy but not really thinking about what I want to really upload, you know? Not doing my "job" in hopefully giving you the best music I can find properly.
Oh, and by the way. Those of you who don't run a channel by themselves, you have no idea how tough this really is. And don't get me started on finding a good picture ^^
So, why did I go for the last track on the Album, 霍 青娥? Well, honestly it was RIDICULOUSLY tough to choose between ARA's remix of U.N. Owen was her?, Doll Judgment and Old Yuanxian. In the end, I simply decided on the argument of amount. You see, I already have a few U.N. Owen arranges here. Same goes for Doll Judgment. But Old Yuanxian, Seiga's theme, is nearly non-existent. I have one arrange of it on this channel, and even so it's a mix with Yoshika's theme.
Sure, if you listen to U.N. and Doll Judgment done by ARA, you hear that they both feature chori, which is something that usually instantly secures an upload (yes, I'm that simple minded). However, in this instance I really loved the way Seiga's theme is presented here the most, even without an epic chant in the background.
The arrange is very fast, well constructed, a bit haunting and never stops being pulse-accelerating. I don't know how to put it. Is my racing heart merely an effect of the tempo with the violins, the trumpets and the drums or is it the combination of those things? Yes, there's a difference, read the sentence again and think about what I might mean.
Despite the... restlesness, each of the "spikes" (=short breaks with a drum following straight up) packs a fair bit of a punch, meaning the arrange doesn't let up. It somehow sounds like a sped-up march a bit now that I think of it. I just love it. Of course, since it's ARA we're speaking about, you can clearly hear the base tune all the time. Does it have a best part... I like all of this arrange, so I don't really think so. If you think one part or the other is particularly good, tell me in the comments.
