I had a great time making this, as I love to tell a story. Basically, X-Factor last year insisted I sing something, and then criticised me heavily for singing it. The full story is here: http://victor-thediary.blogspot.com.a....

I was feeling pretty hurt about that for a long time, and met up with my ex-girlfriend, Rachel, who's still a good friend and would never hurt me the way those people did.
The day after, as I was falling asleep, a really cool melody just came into my mind. I jumped out of bed and hummed it into my phone, so as not to forget it (which I had done a couple of times before).

I had my first guitar lesson a few days later, and bought my guitar. I plucked out a baseline, matched some chords, wrote some words, and it just seemed to work.
The song itself is about my ex-girlfriend. The story is here: http://victor-thediary.blogspot.com.a...

I recorded the song on my laptop on Garageband (as a very basic version: http://youtu.be/O-LIvlcVM68) I then just kept on writing songs and doing more basic laptop recordings, and all of these prototypes are available on this channel.

My singing teacher insisted I take them to a recording studio, and I was lucky enough to find a great producer who helped me really bring the song to life. I love all of the songs on my EP, and I've done one live performance with a band, which was awesome, and I'm looking forward to doing more.

The video basically tells that story, as well as the romance between Rachel and I. Hence the salsa dancing- another big love of mine. It's how we met.

A huge thanks to my singing teacher, (Sally- Singing Alive), guitar teacher (Mauricio- M&Ms guitar school), record producer (Sean Carey- Thirsty Merc), film director (Ian Nicholson- Hyperdriven.com.au), the multitude of people who have taught me to dance salsa, and last but not least, the people at X-Factor, to whom I also say (in the words of Busta Rhymes) "WOOHA!! I got you all in check! " ;)
