If you have not heard Canadian musician Garnet Rogers's songs before, you are in for a treat. This is one of my favourites. If you can, go and see him perform in person: if you can't do that, then get yourself a CD. You'll find yourself hooked on his music. Right now he is in the process of updating his website: meanwhile his CD's are available from Amazon. There are a number of videos on YouTube of various people doing their own version of this song. For my money they don't come close to the beautiful and unforgettable original. So here is the real thing. The photos accompanying this song are my own. They are not meant to illustrate the lyrics literally but rather the spirit of the music. And although I live in an area that you might say is jam-packed with magpies, I've never taken a single picture of one, so you will have to forgive all the seagulls, pelicans, and geese (I live near a lake). Plus, I have no pictures of a harvest moon---just the crescent. There ya go. Enjoy!
