Mythic bassline and track. To me it doesn't get any better than this.

Second track of the Blackman album, and probably the most well known. Sonjohn just destroyed that shit. Plus Don's solo is marvelous... some serious bop goin on here.

This is among the hardest tracks I've ever come to face, forget about Wooten or crazy flashy stuff. It requires absolute cleanleaness, a HUGE tone and a laid back feel, and the fact it's a heavy shuffle is super hard on the right thumb.

Watch out for the open strings and hammer-ons. If you can, play this with the left thumb over the neck for the necessary cleanliness and feel.

Use a whole lotta compression, but be careful, every noise will be magnified by it.

I play all of Sunjohn's licks (except a low and a high slide lol) until the second verse, then I try my own. Dennis Chambers double bass lick was fun to cop on bass too.
