The IceField 3D Engine is a component-based game engine developed by Frima Studio. The latest version was designed from the ground up with a production pipeline in mind. Everything in the engine is optimized for fast game iteration, allowing programmers to quickly create and test game content. It offers an optimized and seamless integration between 3ds Max and your game. The world editor allows programmers to do fast iteration by testing every bit of script directly at runtime (hot-reload) inside the editor. Artist can create the world, light it and create the magical environment you expect from them with minimal friction and hassle. Even your designers use the same tool to tweak and test values exposed by the project to further enhance gameplay.
This video demonstrates a couple of Icefield World Editor features: (In the order of appearance) -Modeling and collision shapes (custom export from 3ds Max) -Dual-Quaternion animation system (smooth blendings) -Dynamic lighting (with shadow) of a scene, and lightmap baking by the editor -Pathfinding solution based on Navmeshs (Using Recast) -Dynamic 2D/3D UI management using Flash IDE export -Dynamic script creation and Hot-Reloading -Engine Optimization: using Monocle and TheMiner -Multi-user edition (Full SVN integration and proprietary scene-merging tools) -Multi-layer 100%-GPU-Particles system edition with properties and curves
