In his documentary, Room 237, Rodney Ascher recommends watching The Shining both backwards and forwards simultaneously, superimposed on each other. Naturally, I was curious about the halfway point of the film, the "convergence point" where the backwards strip and the forwards strip meet and pass each other. I was thinking that it would be a signficant part of Kubrick's hidden messages. What I saw was incredible, and changed completely everything I thought I knew that the Shining was about, from the standpoint of conspiracy researchers.
