Jørn Lemvik, Secretary General of Digni (the Norwegian umbrella organization that coordinates and recognizes faith-inspired development efforts), reflected on the role of faith actors, especially Christian organizations, in the evolution of Norway's development work and strategy. Mr. Lemvik has been part of a recent rethinking of church-state relations prompted by an op-ed by Norway's development and environment minister titled "Taking God Seriously," which offers a new approach to engaging with religious actors in the highly secular Norway.

Jørn Lemvik is the Secretary General of Digni, a Norwegian umbrella organization that coordinates and recognizes faith-inspired development efforts. Mr. Lemvik worked with faith actors and development organizations in Ethiopia for 13 years, where he taught at the Leadership Institute of the Mekane Yesus Church. He has advised faith-inspired development organizations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and published a book drawn from this work entitled Enabling organizations, stories and tools.
