Sound recordist Peter Handford (1919-2007) talks to cinematographer David Watkin (1925-2008) about his time spent in the Army film unit.

Peter landed with the commandos on Juno Beach at 8am on June 6th 1944. Oblique reference to "another air force" is the US Army Air Force who mistakenly bombed the 51st Highland division (reference by David to "Kay" is film maker Kay Mander ) witnessed by Peter and his men, but edited out of their accounts deposited with the IWM as it did not accord with the official history of the D Day landings.

Later Peter explains how Roy Boulting (1913-2001) got Peter an his men (six of them) to represent the British Army at the liberation of Paris in 1944.

Recorded in Peter's garden on October 1st 2002 by Barry Coward
