On 15 May 2013 , the new project on Temple traditions of Kerala taken up by Dr Suvarna Nalapat Trust , was switched on by Sri Krishnabalan Paliyath, of the Paliyam group of Devaswams . Thrikkoor Mahadeva temple belongs to Paliyam Group. Thrikkoor is a cave temple with many Astronomical signs showing that it was an ancient observatory of the ancient people of Kerala. It is a Megalithic Astrolab with models of Theodolite. The presence of three Dinosaurs carved on the rock is astonishing. Dinosaurs were extinct 65.5 billion years ago. with the Deccan Drop of western science, and the Dandakaranya destruction of Valmiki in Ramayana. Western scientists have mentioned that Dinosaurs sleep on their side with one hand underneath the head, and that their feet make a trefoil sign. One of the carved Dinosaurs (on top of Thrikkur hill in between the sivaganga and the enclosure nearby for head of siva) is in a sleeping posture, carved by a master craftsman of ancient Kerala. The trefoil signs are seen on the rockface. Magic squares (for which Srinivasa Ramanujam was famous) are also seen carved on top of the hill above the cave temple. These discoveries made by our Trust , has significance for the history of entire India, probably for entire world, for evolution of human thought and culture from antiquity, and not merely for Kerala. Dr Suvarna Nalapat Trust presents a very short documentary (edited version) for the sake of interested archeoastronomers, archeologists, history students and for the public. How important is that we protect our ancient monuments as such is pointed out by such research studies. Thanks to Archeological Society of India(Thrissoor Division), Paliyam Group , and Kochin Devaswam Board.
