To mark International Women's Day 2016 (#IWD2016), the Church of England asked Bishops to nominate some of the women they found inspiring. The short film 'Women Inspiring Women' looks at 7 Bishops' stories of those women they find inspiring.

You can also watch each of the Bishops' full piece on the woman or women they find inspiring in 7 separate films.

The Bishop of Hull, the Rt Rev'd Alison White speaks about Carol Ann Duffy, the famous poet, playwright and current British Poet Laureate. Alison speaks about Carol’s wonderful way with words in order to open peoples hearts and minds to see human life differently. She considers what Carol does with poetry is her job as a Bishop, to help people engage with faith in a culture where it is not something considered relevant or useful.
