Changing of the Evzone guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (The Syntagma Square, Athens, Greece).

This is a long and highly respected tradition in Greece. Evzones, the Presidential Guard, is a ceremonial unit, which draws its volunteers from other Hellenic Army's units.

The uniform they are wearing has evolved from the clothes worn by the klephts, who fought the Ottoman occupation of Greece. The peculiar uniform, as well as their proven valour has turned the Evzones into a popular image for the Greek soldier.

It is respectable tradition.

And I do not mean to be disrespectful.

Just saying that it does look a bit funny. A bit like "The Ministry of Silly Walks" sketch from Monty Python, hence the title.

Please don't get offended.
