I know of several that have made it to adulthood, it is becoming more common now. There were a set of morgans born this year and both are doing fine. There were a set of QH's I think born the year before mine and both of them are fine as well... Strikers bones did not calcify and that was the reason we put him down, it was for him we did it. as he would be in pain his entire life with Arthritis etc... and I just couldn't do it to him, he was grinding his lil teeth already from the pain...

No when horses have twins it is usually because they have two follicles that release within 24 hours of one another. Therefore they are most often fraternal twins.

Gosh, they're so small! I nearly cried, they're so cute! And the sweaters! Dear ponies, so adorable! It is so sad that Striker is no longer with us, but at least Ginger is safe and healthy. They are both so cute. Do you have any tips for me? My mare is pregnant, and I've never foaled a horse before, so I want all the help I can get.
