About Tyler
Tyler Rabinowitz is a 20-year-old filmmaker, studying Film/Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, with a minor in Children's Mental Health Studies. In 2011, President Barack Obama named Tyler a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts—a title given to 20 artists among all 18-year-olds in the country. The White House deems this the highest honor a student can receive in the United States of America. Tyler received a National Medallion from President Obama and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. His films have been on exhibition at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, shown at the Kennedy Center, and led to his recognition by the National Young Arts Foundation as a 2011 YoungArts Winner in Cinematic Arts. In 2013, Tyler represented NYU in the front row of a United Nations conference for college students led by Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, titled "Building Towards the Future." Tyler has worked for Warner Bros., Avy Kaufman Casting, and volunteered for the Heart Gallery—an organization that expedites the family matching process for orphaned children. Tyler made videos of six children to help them find their "forever families," and within six months all of them found homes. Tyler is currently developing narrative live action films as well as animated series concepts for children's programming.

About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
