This year I found out about Esperanto, the international and neutral language, which is also the world's easiest language to learn. It encourages open cultural exchange without preference to any particular speaker. I very much liked the idea, but I wanted to see if it really worked! So, I signed up to the first international Summer Esperanto Study program, which was organized by www.Lernu.net ; a website for learning Esperanto for free. I saw an international community that I never knew existed. I found out that Esperanto isn't just a language; it's people and ideas that work together. I hope that this video shows exactly why this was only the first of many Esperanto events that I will be going to.
