32 high school kids went into a studio near Chapel Hill, NC during the SUMMER RECORDING WORKSHOP offered by Community Chorus Project and recorded R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts" thanks to a grant from the University of North Carolina. R.E.M.'s manager loved our video when he saw it and posted it to their website and Facebook page. This is what he said when he saw what we did "... this is absolutely beautiful -- I have chillbumps as I write this and I loved every second-- the music, the filming, the expressions, the message, the rocking, the voices. Really beautifully done and I am sure the band will love it too." -- Bertis Downs, Manager R.E.M. Community Chorus Project say THANK YOU R.E.M.!
We were backed in the studio by ace musicians - The Beast and Mallarme Chamber Players who provided the strings. Eric Hirsh and Shana Tucker wrote the arrangement and the session was produced and engineered by studio genius Ian Schreier at Manifold Studio! A completely awesome experience for all of us.
