The p-Prime and u-Prime control charts are designed for monitoring rates and proportions when the counts of nonconformities do not follow the usual binomial and Poisson distributions. They are based on a methodology developed by David Laney and handle cases of both overdispersion and underdispersion. Tests are also provided to determine when such charts are needed.
