MN businesses and city infrastructures are facing large storm water runoff fees. Using a green solution one Minneapolis warehouse's $58,000 storm water fee was reduced to $0. Installation of natural prairie habitat absorbed storm water runoff through the establishment of retention basins, rain gardens, and natural habitat. Their site changed from being 95% impervious to capturing 95% of their storm runoff. Natural habitat also cut maintenance costs, as it costs 7.3% more to maintain lawns.
