Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah) spoke on the Senate floor on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, about filling the amendment tree on the Defense Authorization bill, and the frustration over overloading it with unrelated amendments, such as the DREAM Act. Such maneuvers make it impossible for senators to be able to vote on each amendment on their own merits. Bennett is in favor of the DREAM Act, but can't vote for it as an amendment to the Defense Authorization bill because of a number of objectionable aspects to it.
