Map Button Your Navigation System contains mapping of all major cities and roads to keep you on track. Once you've chosen a destination, the computer calculates a route, with time and distance to your destination.
Your position is constantly updated and guidance provided, as well as information to nearby restaurants, hotels and other stops.
Press the MAP button to display the current location's map screen. Then touch MAP MENU. A menu will come up.
To access a particular map view, Select "Map View" and then "Change View" on the touch screen.
Select 2D, SPLIT 2D, BIRDVIEW, or SPLIT BIRDVIEW format.
The 2D VIEW shows a map in the two dimensional form that is similar to a road map.
The SPLIT 2D, also shows two maps in the two dimensional format, but shows a closeup of one and a wider view of the other.
The BIRDVIEW map makes a route more recognizable because it elevates the landmarks and provides a panoramic view over a long distance.
If you choose SPLIT (BIRDVIEW) you can look at both views at once on a split screen.
Use the arrows on the touch screen to move around a map. When you start moving, a cross pointer appears. Stop when the pointer is where you want it and press ENTER.
To view the map in greater detail, touch this KEY then press ZOOM IN until you achieve the desired setting.
To view a wider area, press ZOOM OUT. If you press and hold the ZOOM button in either direction, you'll get continuously closer or farther away map views.
The scale information will disappear after neither ZOOM setting has been used for several seconds.
