Now that the spider has finished working on the egg sack, she has to get working on keeping it protected for the winter. This is what this short video is showing. After making the egg sack, she dedicates another hour in putting up a strong framework of silk, protecting it from wasps and ants. (Another longer vid of another spider doing the same process coming soon.) After the spider finished her 10 hours of persistent hard working and effort, she decided to gaurd the egg sack for another 3 hours before she goes back to her routine of doing it all over again. Unfortunately, the eggs didn't make it. The sack got destroyed by a bird in the middle of winter, and paraseptic wasps got to it.
THESE SPIDERS ARE HARMLESS, BLIND (for the most part), and NOT DEADLY (unless you have really severe reaction to bug bites, but this spider is still quite unlikely to bite you.).

Please subscribe, and thanks for watching!

They are completely harmless! As scary as it looks, fear not, when you find one! Thanks for watching (again :)

They are such beautiful animals. I've seen them by my house but they are extremely rare. Pity they aren't more common.

I'm in Southern California like 40 minutes from LA. I've seen maybe two or three of them here my whole life. One even left an Egg case on her web like in this video. Unfortunately I don't think it ever hatched.
IloveSPIDERZ
Where do you live?!  They are all over the place in all the places I've been too!
IronWoode
what's the big deal about this spider? an argiope creating an egg-case isn't scary.
