This is a great low post move for getting by bigger and slower defensive players. It is effective because you will catch the defensive player by surprise because of your mobility. The defensive player expects you to stop after reaching out for the basketball with the first hop-step. Instead, you continue moving toward the basket (one dribble) in a plane perpendicular toward the baseline. Even if the defensive player stays with you after the second-dribble hop, you will lose him or her with the third hop-step toward the basket. The most exciting aspect of this move is after the second-dribble hop, you can use any of the 14 scoring options to attack the basket. This is the second most effective post move after the side reverse dribble move.
