In this video, I show how we can inject gestures inside a simple non-multitouch-aware application. Ginn which is part of Canonical uTouch stack does this by translating gesture events from the gesture recognition engine to key presses and mouse buttons clicks which any application already supports.
The matching of gestures is done by dynamically loading a wishes.xml files that contains parameters to capture gestures.
In this way, Ginn can be used to support legacy applications, or just for prototyping multitouch interactions before getting fully supported.
