A strong rotating supercell thunderstorm developed west of Fort Smith Arkansas and tracked into the downtown area on April 26, 2011. The updraft of the thunderstorms and the rapidly rotating wall cloud was captured LIVE on skycam.

Meteorologists Jason Adams & Joe Pennington tracked the storm from the Fort Smith studio while Meteorologist Garrett Lewis tracked the storm from the Fayetteville studio.

The storm came 1 day after flash floods claimed 4 lives in Northwest Arkansas and caused extensive damage. The same system ejected into the south the following day and produced numerous strong to violent tornadoes across Alabama including 3 EF5s and numerous EF4s in the Birmingham & Tuscaloosa area.
