Dear Brothers and Sisters, today I would like to share with you the story of Mr. Jamphel Yeshi. Mr. Jamphel Yeshi was from Tibet and moved to India, in Delhi. On 26 March 2012, at the age of 27, he burned himself for freedom for his people in Tibet. Before he self immolated, he wrote a letter for all the Tibetans (especially the ones who live in exile) to be united and be active for the freedom. I was very moved by this letter and therefore I tried to bring all the Tibetan musicians in exile to record music together, making a new song using the exact words from his letter. Some said yes but most said no, and some never replied. Consequently, I got very upset myself, I felt I failed to bring together Tibetan musicians, and therefore I composed this song Mr. Jamphel Yeshi I am sorry, to express my feelings and the situation of Tibetans in exile.
