Panthers Jump Rope Team (formly Pink Panthers Double Dutch) released a new jump rope video in support of First Lady Michelle Obama's Get Fit Campaign. The video features jumping, music and dancing from iconic recording artist Beyonce and her "Move Your Body" song, also written for the Obama Campaign to prevent childhood obesity.
"I was so inspired by Michelle Obama and the Let's Move Initiative that I wanted to contribute. Thankful for the idea to do jump rope, jumping is another avenue to fight against childhood obesity. We would be honored if given the opportunity to jump at the White House," says Joyce Dickerson, Founder.
The Panthers teamed up with National Grand Champion jumper Nick Woodard and Jumpin' Allstars to produce this video. The group choreographed a jaw-dropping routine of jumps, flips and twists that dazzled their live audience of family, friends, community members and elected officials convened at Homewood-Flossmoor High School.
Panthers Jump Rope Team takes the sport they know best and uses it to help advance the health of kids and adults. Jump rope is an activity that is both fun and healthy. It increases one's fitness with every single jump. Jumping rope also is an inexpensive way to promote health so that people of all calibers can participate without struggle.
Panthers Jump Rope Team decided to join the Let's Move! campaign in an attempt to help lower the childhood obesity rate, which is a rising problem. This campaign was announced in 2010 by Michelle Obama. This is a video of Panthers Jump Rope team doing their part in staying active and we hope that you will join us on this journey to getting and remaining healthy and fit.
