Hewden partner Sustrans to train unemployed young people in the safe use of plant equipment.
In this project youngsters from the Swindon area are having training in the industry. Hewden have partnered with Mentor and Eco Training to teach these youngster how to to operate machinery like the 360 excavator and the dumper truck. They set to work on the cycle paths throughout the UK.
Sustrans is a British charity that promotes sustainable transport. The charity works on projects that encourage people to walk, cycle, and use public transport, to give people the choice of "travelling in ways that benefit their health and the environment".
As well as the National Cycle Network, Sustrans is working on Safe Routes to Schools, Safe Routes to Stations, Home Zones (liveable neighbourhoods), and Pont y Werin in Cardiff.
