This was just 1 or 2 years after I started playing the harmonica guitar... damn... I heard that we were going to Thanksgiving at my parents friends place, and that there was going to be a guitarist there, I should bring my harmonica... little did I know that it was the guitarist from a-ha... and wow.. just listening to this today (the first time Ive heard it since it happened) made me appreciate how good he was and how much of a novice, and nervous I was, when playing with other people... in a way, this was the very first of my "stranger danger" jam...

Wow.. coming back and watching this... It is awesome to see my playing at a state when I was transforming the "licks" that I learned from listening to a "KLUTZ" audio tape on harmonica playing. There are a few of the basic licks that you get in any blues tape, but it paired them together in such a way that I was incorporating serious movement around the harmonica, tonally these licks were interacting with the melody as well as rhythmically with consideration given to the structure of their embouchure... It's just crazy for me to see myself almost "cycle-through" all the various nuggets of "ok, I can play that / there" type information stored in my brain. And for Paul to be such a sport as to play AMAZING backing guitar to complement what I was able to bring to the table at that time. Just gracious gracious accompany playing, and would have loved to do an update vid any Thanksgiving! Next year, my place!!
