the marathon county treasurer's office is hoping to find the rightful owner of the 1-thousand-dollars in unclaimed money the state owes them. newschannel-7 told the county treasurer today... that river valley bank turned over more than 1-thousand-dollars that belongs to the county. but after finding out where the money came from... she says it was actually a cashier's check from 2006 from a taxpayer... and should really go back to that person. "4:08 because i know exactly what it is, if somebody called and said they had purchased a cashier's check for property taxes back in 2006 and if the amount would show up to be the same thing, we would give it back to the taxpayer it belongs to :24"the state treasurer's website says there's more than 400-million-dollars in unclaimed money around wisconsin.
