(PART 2) This presentation shows that normal coal tar pavement sealants, still applied on parking lots and driveways at the rate of more than 80 million gallons per year, are toxic to the environment. Austin was the first city to ban this product. Since then a few others have joined, including Washington, D.C., but remains a problem throughout the US.
