An here's her story :(!!! COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A felony death case against a northern Kentucky man has been sent to a Kenton County grand jury.
Clifford Gardenhire is charged with first-degree manslaughter in the Dec. 7 death of 23-year-old Nikkia Comer of Elsmere, who died after Gardenhire's car ran over her.
The defense claims the death of Comer - the mother of Gardenhire's child - was an accident.
The Kentucky Enquirer reported a police detective said Gardenhire told him Comer jumped on the hood of his car as he tried to leave.
Detective Dennis McCarthy said during a hearing Tuesday that witnesses said they heard Comer screaming that the car was on top of her.
Police said they arrived to find Gardenhire standing next to the car with Comer's cellular phone, which he had used to call 911.
