What professional learning opportunities are schools providing around computer science, and how can targeted funding support educators teaching those classes? Education Week talked with two computer science educators who attended a July 25 panel discussion, hosted by Microsoft, on growing the teaching workforce in that subject. Dianne O'Grady-Cunniff, of the Charles County school system in Maryland, talked about how her superintendent's support bolstered the district's computer science efforts. And Curt Minich, of the Wyomissing Area school district in Pennsylvania, explained how computer science funding can be used to encourage teachers to learn new skills.
