For those of you that shy away from winter riding due to perceived discomfort rather than the lack of "social benefits", here is how you do it! This is how to stay warm and therefore safe and also being able to actually enjoy yourself!

-Don't ride in or jump in any snow!

-Dress in LAYERS!
Each layer serves a function and allows you the flexibility of reducing layers for heat regulation(usually not necessary).

Protect your torso to potentially avoid cold hands and feet

Wear wind proof outer layers

Figure out what you need to wear relative to the temperature BEFORE going on long rides!

Pay close attention to the function of your hands. If you allow them to get cold, they can get numb and then surprise you when you try to do something and can't feel anything.(Should not happen if dressed properly)

While you want to block the wind, you have to be careful that your gear allows some level of breath-ability or you are going to be REALLY HOT and basically riding in a sauna!

Wind resistant boots big enough to fit some thick socks would be a good idea.

[Come stare al caldo in inverno!]
