Ethiopia's renowned author and journalist Mammo Wudneh laid to rest

The renowned Ethiopian author, journalist and translator Mammo Wudneh was laid to rest on Saturday at the Holy Trinity Church in the capital.

Mammo was Born in Amdework Town, Dehana Woreda , Wag Awraja of the former Wollo province in 1923EC to his father Wudneh Teferi and his mother Abebech Woldeyes.

He attended primary education in Dessie and Addis Ababa.

Mammo, who passed away at the age of 81, was founder and editor-in-chief for "Police Ena Ermijaw", an Amharic newspaper and worked as journalist for Hibret and Yezareitu Ethiopia newspapers.

Mammo, who translated and wrote 54 books including eight theater scripts, was known largely for his translated works of espionage.

He is survived by his six children and ten grand children.
