I was curious as to when the Powered USB port would actually provide power to your devices, so I tested out the possible states and discovered when you can and cant charge devices using this port. The short version, if you can't wait to the end, is that the port will charge in all scenarios EXCEPT when in hibernate on battery power, and when the unit is turned completely off on battery power.
