Turtle meat is considered a delicacy in many countries as well as the U.S. The snapping turtle is a reptile and the meat has the texture of frog legs and or lobster. The myth behind the seven kinds of meat is a falsehood. There are only two kinds of meat in a snapping turtle light and dark. The four legs and the tail are dark meat while the neck and the back straps are white meat. This video will show you how to remove the meat from the shell and prepare it for cooking. Our video will enable even the inexperienced to successfully catch, butcher, prepare and cook a snapping turtle. This video was shot over a period of 3 days on a Michigan river.
