So you've decided that you want to leverage the web's dev toolchain for making your mobile apps. What about using the web's performance testing tools? With Appium, the cross-platform native and hybrid mobile automation framework, you can easily get all kinds of interesting performance data out of your app during a test.
In this talk Jonathan looks at a simple hybrid app and shows how you can gather profiling information while testing, and incorporate that data into the decisions your test makes about the fitness of the app, all without having to incorporate or learn any performance-specific tooling. He then discusses how to run these kinds of tests on emulators, real devices, and in the cloud on Sauce Labs. Just because your app runs on mobile devices doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the latest developments in "Front End Ops"!
