Sabih's Dream was presented as part of the Music with a View Festival 2012. Curated by pianist Kathleen Supové, Music With A View is a downtown New York music series devoted to the discovery of new, fresh sound created and performed by contemporary musicians. Each performance is followed by an open discussion between the artists and the audience, moderated by leaders in the field of music.
From the composer: "There is a point of levitation in a thoroughbred Arabian horse's run when the rider needs to adjust the velocity of their gaze and find the still point on the horizon. The word in my mother tongue which describes this moment is "jezditi" which means "to touch the stars on a horse". The experience of this moment of kinetic and spiritual freedom is at the core of my inspiration for this piece. It features tuning of my design woven with tempered intonation."
