20 large lamp shades have been added to the lamps lining the 700 block of Texas St in downtown Shreveport by NYC artist Marjorie Kouns. The art project, called Shades of Shreveport, is one that originated in a Times Square work and metamorphosed into a Washington Square Park event.
An informal history of public art in downtown Shreveport is given by the director of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Pam Atchison.
